About This System

There are three parts to this website

1, the hard coded files that display the data these are my application framework. They can and should be backed up, but in all actuality I will always have copies of these.and if you ever need to reinstall you should contact me as my copies will have the most recent updates.

2, the photos, these are located in two folders the images folder in the site root has all of the website photos "logo etc" and then all of your gallery photos are in the photos folder inside a folder called gallery1

3, the database. this holds everything that can be changed on the website. Which is pretty much everything.


The files and photos can be backed up using an ftp program and copying the files to a folder on your system as well as a CD or other backup media. The photos should be backed up whenever you add a lot of photos. If you don't add photos these will never change. since photos are the only thing that will change the file system on your end.


The database can be backed up by logging into your hosting account and going to databases, phpmyadmin there you will chose your database using your password. then use the export function to download a file. This contains all of your pages, color, and site settings.


This needs to be done for all 3 portions of the website, the main site, cart, and blog.


When you are ready, let me know and I want to pull an update. this is so you can go in and change everything and delete things and create things etc. and totally get a feel for what each thing does. Then after you have seen what can be done and gotten comfortable I will reload the update and your site will be just where it started. I put a lot of work into this and it is hugely configurable. you can't break it as long as you have a backup of the last good database.

As websites go this is the last website you will ever need to buy. If you made a radical business model change in the future you could adapt this website to that change. Many website developers are happy to give you a static website and call it a day. This is what they call job security. But what happens if your website developer gets hit by a bus and you then need to change something? This website gives you the control. That is why I am so adamant that you get involved in content management. Nobody else makes websites this way. You will never need to get another website since you can change this one in every way.

I have made something you can easily adapt to your ever changing needs. Just remember on the website side you need only regularly backup the database and the photos folder and you can always reset that.

I will make a video tutorial series on the care and use of my system. I greatly appreciate that your site was instrumental in deciding parts of the functionality of this system. I will send a link to these when I have completed them. It was a challenge writing this and I am sorry it has taken this long. But please rest assured you have something that is unprecedented here. and as time goes by you will be very happy it worked out this way.
